Yes. I was also madly in love with Sherlock Holmes throughout most of my childhood. Couldn't handle reading Laurie R. King after bok 3. And then I found out about slash and it just added a whole new dimension to my first fandom love. And I am completely with you on Watson - I can't stand when he's portrayed as a bumbling fool because he isn't, he's reliable and loyal and the best friend a man could have. Neko used to be on my flist, it's such a shame she's not around anymore.
